At Cambridge School Mau, we follow a structured examination and grading system that ensures fair assessment, academic growth, and continuous improvement of our students. Our evaluation process is designed to encourage conceptual understanding, skill development, and overall performance.

Assessment Structure

We conduct examinations and assessments in a phased manner to help students perform better without stress.

✅ Pre-Primary (Nursery & KG)
✔ No formal examinations.
✔ Continuous assessment through activities, worksheets, and teacher observations.
✔ Emphasis on motor skills, creativity, and social development.

✅ Primary (Classes 1 – 5)
✔ Formative Assessments (FA) – Regular class tests, assignments, and activities.
✔ Summative Assessments (SA) – Half-yearly and annual exams.
✔ Focus on conceptual understanding, communication skills, and participation.

✅ Middle & Secondary (Classes 6 – 10)
✔ Periodic Tests (PTs) – Conducted throughout the year to track progress.
✔ Half-Yearly & Annual Exams – Comprehensive assessments covering the syllabus.
✔ Practical & Project Work – For subjects like Science, Computer, and Social Studies.
✔ Internal Assessments – Marks for class performance, assignments, and attendance.

✅ Senior Secondary (Classes 11 – 12)
✔ Unit Tests & Pre-Board Exams – To prepare students for board examinations.
✔ Practical Exams – For Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams.
✔ Final Board Examination – Conducted as per educational board guidelines.

Grading System

We follow a standard grading system to evaluate students based on their academic performance, class participation, and co-curricular involvement.

✔ Class Participation – Engagement in discussions and activities.
✔ Assignments & Homework – Regular submission and quality of work.
✔ Projects & Practical Work – Application-based assessments.
✔ Co-Curricular Activities – Performance in sports, arts, and cultural events.

Re-Examinations & Improvement Tests

🔹 Students who score below the passing criteria will be given re-examination opportunities.
🔹 Improvement tests are conducted for students who wish to enhance their grades.
